FEDASEN Comprehensive Asset Management System
As a technology owner, FEDASEN is able to provide solutions for multiple areas of operation as well as manage and monitor contractors’ job.
FEDASEN’s solution is not a typical asset management system, it comes as a
FEDASEN Comprehensive Asset Management System – Concept Architecture
At the next level, through customised and interactive reports, there will be a dashboard for condition monitoring. This could be for road signs and symbols as well as surface pavement deformation, buildings or plants. The solution totally removes and replaces any manual procedures that require manpower.
With the use of advanced mobile equipment and high-resolution cameras, along with RTK, GPSs, IMU Sensors and LiDAR technology, the most optimal accurate position and condition of assets and defects can be identified and recorded. By implying a topography approach, panoramic images of assets and defects are captured with a resolution up to 60 MP with error tolerance down to 2cm.
The accuracy and measurement of defects can even go down to the millimetre level if the LiDAR technology is employed. The data is captured only once. Then it can be used for multiple analysis purposes and in software applications, such as road surface and pavement conditions, or road marks and traffic signs detection, etc.
This method of data capturing and collection, saves a
Once all assets (signs, markings, etc.) are detected and registered, “Asset Analyser” – a key component of the solution – comes into play. Currently, more than 2,000 asset types in road and city are detected and classified. Thus, Asset Analyser powered by AI (Artificial Intelligence) can provide complete condition monitoring on all the assets. Every single asset can be viewed through an interface along with its conditions.
Pavement Analyser and Condition Monitoring has been developed by an exclusive engine and supported by International Standards. However, it is open and flexible to adjust to any other type of standards and regulations. It is currently supported by ASTM Standard – Materials and Consumables in the Road Construction Industry -, Asphalt Institute as well as Ashto Standards and Regulations (AASHTO). Almost all type of pavement defects, surface deformation, cracks and potholes have been detected and classified by the system. By applying multiple filters, the system is able to remove any noise, reflection or shadow, in order to have the accurate and exact status of the defect. Pavement Condition Index (PCI) is also automatically applied for condition rating. It is important to remind that PCI can also be replaced with any other rating methods or standards. Pavement Condition Monitoring can be displayed through interactive reports in customised dashboards. It can deliver a comprehensive view of the entire road and also for defined segments and distances.
The reports can be generated based on defect type, severity and extent and they can include all the details needed, in terms of positioning and status. Reports can also be used for economic analysis. By Decision Making Tree methods, the system identifies whether immediate maintenance is required or it can wait for scheduled maintenance. This would be useful for budget forecasting in annual plans.
FEDASEN Comprehensive Asset Management System Components
FEDASEN User Manager
FEDASEN user manager allows the organization to control all users’ access and permissions in FEDASEN’s web applications. It has powerful tools and libraries for user authorization and authentication. FEDASEN User Manager provides an interface to design access levels based on organizational charts, defining access levels for applications and components. This component has been implemented based on the Microsoft Security .Net system
FEDASEN User Manager allows creating and editing users, user groups and user roles in the system. It also provides authorization and authentication services to the main system and other FEDASEN components. It supports the common standard security protocols, including SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect and OAuth 2.0.
Key features:
- Defining access levels according to organizational charts
- Integrating user management by defining users roles
- Applying access levels through a single application
- Including all web application being used in the organization in order to manage access rights
- Assigning or revoking applications’ resources to users
and/or roles - Inheriting users’ rights from its role, with the ability to change for a single user
- Providing the ability to assign tasks to users, based on states defined in the workflow, to be viewed through FEDASEN E-Worktable
- Providing access from the
high level to the asset level
FEDASEN Event Logger
FEDASEN Events Logger is a robust security and monitoring tool which facilitates recording all activities in the system along with the date, time and other related information. This component can provide analyses of events and audit logs in the system and can provide management reports for supervisors and system administrators. It can also send a notification when a specific event/s is/are observed in the system.
Key features:
- Registration of all or a selection of changes in data, regardless of where it happens in the system
- Controlling and supervising the process of data modification
- Ability to select subsystems in which the event logging is required
- Tracing user activities
- Reporting all changes of data on a specific period of time
- Reporting user activities in order to compare users’ performances
- Detecting intruders and non-authorized user
- Working independently from any application, so that any bypassing intruder can be also detected and related activities can be logged
- Identifying peak hours, broken down to departments and users
- Various security reports
FEDASEN Notification Server
FEDASEN Notification Server provides the whole system with a durable tool to send and receive different types of notifications including system notifications, email and SMS. The component can be used for sending and recording notification to a user/asset manager in both expected and unexpected situations or activities. For instance, the asset manager will be notified if contractors have read or taken action on a work order. This component is linked to the reporting system and can send the report as a notification on the completed job.
FEDASEN Workflow Designer
FEDASEN Workflow Designer is a business process modelling engine based on BPMN 2.0 (Business Process Model and Notation) standard and toolset to build workflow-enabled applications in a quick and efficient manner. The designer, as one of the core components of the solution, can be employed either as Workflow Management System or to be integrated with the existing systems. Relying on FEDASEN IDRMS, any type of workflow used in any digitized processes and procedures in organizations can be covered.
The Workflow system can be used for defining both system processes and business processes. The processes can be initiated by triggering specific events in the system, through FEDASEN Event Logger, or on the given timing schedules. It provides a powerful library of predefined functionalities encapsulated as configurable building blocks, such as sending and receiving notifications, change detections, SAP connectors, database and RESTful API adapters, to define a workflow process.
Key features:
- Full integration with FEDASEN User Manager to control users’ access
- Including any application which is defined in FEDASEN Security Manager as a base application for workflows
- Defining any business process as a graphical flowchart, using nodes, states and paths
- Setting conditions for entering and exiting a state
- Setting time limitation for any specific state
- Prioritizing flow paths between states
- Error-checking the defined workflows to discover broken links, unused states or lack of conditions.
- Integrating with any in-house or web-based application as a workflow engine
- Providing a powerful object model to access the workflow engine
- Integration with MS Visio, using its stencils
- Easy of use and customizable environment and visual objects
- Full integration with FEDASEN Rule Engine to link computational business process
FEDASEN Rule Engine
Responding to today’s huge demand for creating libraries and tools to make the computational part of business logic as dynamic as possible, FEDASEN has developed some tools to enable businesses to easily define their computations and regulations as flexible formulas.
The engine is a powerful and easy-to-use interface for designing computational rules and defining processes and formulas with more than 700 general functions. In addition, it provides step by step execution and debugging processes and functions in a graphical environment. Moreover, the interface lets the users build necessary relationships between functions and processes with different program components.
